Coldplay to headline Super Bowl halftime show

Seven-time Grammy award winner Coldplay will take part in Super Bowl 50 halftime show, the National Football League announced on Thursday.

The four-man British rock band is expected to join several other international artists for the annual entertainment extravaganza on February 7 in San Jose, California. Coldplay has a new album coming out Friday called, "A Head Full of Dream."

Returning to the Super Bowl stage again will be Bruno Mars, who performed with the Red Hot Chili Peppers at halftime of last season's Super Bowl.

The US media said talks are also being held to bring Beyonce into the halftime show. She worked with Coldplay on its new album.
