Kids duke it out during ice hockey brawl

A children's ice hockey match descended into an ugly scenes when the two teams erupted into an all-out brawl at a professional game in Canada.

'Mites on Ice' is an initiative to attract more youngsters to the game in which children face off during intermission breaks at league matches.

However, one such game at an Ontario Reigns match quickly lost the innocence of youth when both teams started throwing punches during a line change.

Footage of the incident shows the two teams skating off the ice when two players throw down their gloves and rain haymakers at each other.

Another fight then erupts and it isn’t long before both teams are engaged in a wild melee.

Peace was finally restored when the Reign's mascot pulled one of the kids away from the fight and the rest of the players could be ushered off the ice.
