Backlash against Colin Kaepernick continues

The backlash surrounding NFL star Colin Kaepernick and his national anthem protest has hit fever pitch after a group of rival fans set up a tackle dummy in his likeness outside a recent match

Buffalo Bills fans were seen wearing and selling anti-Kaepernick shirts out outside New Era field before the side’s hammering of the San Francisco 49ers this morning (AEDT).

The t-shirts, selling for $10, have an image of Kaepernick on the front with a rifle scope over the top of it. Another made reference to the 49ers quarterback as “kaeperd***”.

Other fans went a step further on a tackling dummy sporting an afro wig and the controversial quarterback’s jersey.

In one video, a fan is seen steadying the dummy for another supporter who races in and crashes into the mannequin.

In another, Bills’ fans scream and yell as a young lady takes a turn at firing a shoulder into the fake quarterback.

However, the messages were not all negative.

A contingent of supporters reportedly stood outside the stadium with signs protesting police brutality and racial inequality.

Kaepernick has divided the sporting public in the US after taking a knee during ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ in a pre-season game to protest social injustice.
