The ultimate NBA miracle shot

A poke in the eye has caused an NBA player to attempt the ultimate hail-mary shot that has miraculously gone in.

Footage from the New York-Phoenix game shows Knicks guard Alexey Shved drive towards the hoop when a second Suns defender reaches across his face and fouls him.

Immediately after being fouled, the Russian flicks the ball over his head towards the hoop without looking and while running away from the basket, with the ball somehow going in off the glass.

After pulling off the miracle shot, Shved staggered off the court clutching his face, with replays revealing he was poked in the eye accidentally by one of the Suns players.

As miraculous as the shot was, it was still not enough to get the Knicks, the worst team in the NBA, over the line with the Suns prevailing, 102-89.
