Sydney Kings coach Brian Goorjian was ejected in the third quarter after failing to "control his emotions" in a NBL match between the Kings and Perth Wildcats.

He was hit with rapid-fire technical fouls which led the 800-game coach to be disqualified and sent off in sensational fashion.

Sydney was able to close out Perth by 22 points, surging ahead to post a 94-72 win.

A referee gave the six-time championship coach his first foul after a heated exchange as Goorjian jumped up and down in response to a call late in the third.

"You need to control your emotions here," the referee warned.

After the officials alleged that the Kings coach used an expletive, he was led off with 1:22 left on the clock.

Both assistant coach Bill Tomlinson and Andrew Bogut stepped up and shared the role for the rest of the game.

Goorjian, who coached the Boomers at four separate Olympics and led the side to a historic bronze medal in 2021, took over as Kings boss last year.

Sydney collected their third win of the 2025 season.

The fifth-placed Kings will play South East Melbourne Phoenix on Thursday before hosting the Tasmania JackJumpers next Sunday.
