Basketballer nails amazing buzzer beater shot

A basketballer has nailed an amazing buzzer beater hoop with a near flat throw that covered almost the full court during a US college game.

Playing against the Florida Gators , Vanderbilt Commodores senior Josh Henderson latched onto a rebound from inside his own key with only seconds before the half-time break.

Then, without taking a single step, the 213cm-tall Henderson turned and hurled a bullet-like shot over 24m straight through the hoop at the opposite end for a remarkable three-pointer.

The ball flew on an almost flat trajectory to find the net, but even more amazingly it was only the third time Henderson had attempted a three-pointer.

Gators players were left dismayed by the freak shot and while they had plenty of time to recover and claw back a five-point mid-match deficit, they ultimately fell 87-74.
