Australian punting sensation Michael Dickson is on track to achieve the remarkable and make the Pro Bowl in his rookie year, although NFL players and coaches could torpedo the former Sydney AFL prospect.

The NFL announced on Friday that Dickson topped the fan vote among punters in the league's NFC conference after his headline-making year with the Seattle Seahawks.

The Cleveland Browns' Britton Colquitt was the top overall fan vote-getter among punters in the AFC and appears set to represent that conference.

The January 27 Pro Bowl game in Orlando pits the best players from the NFC against the AFC's best.

Fans represent only one-third of the total vote.

NFL coaches and players make up the remaining two-thirds and that tally will remain secret until December 18 when the full rosters are announced.

Two other Aussie punters, the Pittsburgh Steelers' Jordan Berry and Philadelphia Eagles' Cameron Johnston, also finished in the top 10 of the fan vote.

Berry, in the AFC, was third earlier in the vote but has dropped to sixth.

Johnston has slipped from sixth to 10th.
