Young Lion floored by falcon

Ever since Mario Fenech made the "falcon" famous, the old ball in the head has been one of the funniest mishaps in football.
At least, funny for spectators but not so amusing for victims.
And so it was the case for Brisbane Lions defender Darcy Gardiner when the teenager was felled by a classic friendly fire "falcon" during his side's 62-point thumping from Geelong on Saturday night.
As the footage shows, Gardiner finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time when a miscued kick from teammate, Jordon Bourke, catches him flush on the temple and floors the 18-year-old late in the first quarter.
Gardiner was left concussed from the close range Sherrin blow and taken from the field at Simonds Stadium.
Ironically, the young Lion is no stranger to falcons, but from a team sense, having been drafted from the Geelong Falcons by Brisbane in 2013.
Let's hope it's the last time he cops a blow like that.
