Adelaide Crows AFLW premiership player Heather Anderson dead at 28
The Adelaide Crows and wider footy community are mourning the sudden death of AFLW premiership player Heather Anderson at just 28.
The courageous defender was a member of the Adelaide team that defeated Brisbane by six points in the 2017 grand final on the Gold Coast.
AFL head of women's football Nicole Livingstone said she was devastated to hear of Anderson's death.

"Words cannot express the deep sadness amongst the AFL and AFLW community at this time," Livingstone said.
"Our sincerest condolences are to the Anderson family.
"On behalf of the AFL, I would like to express my deepest compassion to Heather's family, friends and colleagues."

An army medic originally from the ACT, Anderson was posted to the Northern Territory and drafted with pick 10 in the 2016 draft.
She overcame a serious shoulder injury to feature in every game of the 2017 season, but re-injured her shoulder in the grand final and opted for career-ending surgery.
Anderson became renowned for wearing a pink head gear.
