AFL moves closer to deal on women's pay

A better deal for players in the AFL Women's League is on the way. (AAP)
The AFL is closing in on a fairer pay deal for the new women's league, with an announcement expected in coming days.
General manager of game and development Simon Lethlean says the league had listened to concerns about the $5000 minimum wage originally offered to the AFLW players.

"We're really close and we're confident it's something the AFLPA will endorse and it'll be a fair deal in most people's eyes," he said on Wednesday.
