Three-time premiership Hawks star Jack Gunston leaves club to join AFL rival
Three-time premiership star Jack Gunston has told Hawthorn he will leave the club and join Brisbane over the off-season.
The 30-year-old key forward follows in the footsteps of his former grand final-winning teammates Luke Hodge and Grant Birchall, who both left the Hawks to finish their careers at the Lions.
Gunston also moves to Brisbane despite a cloud hanging over head coach Chris Fagan, who is the subject of an AFL investigation into treatment of First Nations players at Hawthorn.

Gunston leaves the Hawks having played 211 AFL games for the club, and after grand final victories in 2013, 2014, and 2015.

"Jack has been an incredible servant during his 11 seasons here at Hawthorn," head of football Rob McCartney said.
"He leaves the club as a three-time premiership player and a best and fairest winner, but more importantly, a person who is genuinely respected and loved by his teammates, staff and our Hawthorn fans.
"The Gunston family will always be part of the Hawthorn fabric and we thank them for contribution they have made to the brown and gold."
Gunston arrives at Brisbane as fellow tall forward Dan McStay exits the Lions.
Brisbane was knocked out of the premiership running this year with a big preliminary final loss to eventual premiers Geelong.
