Wizard kicks six as Hawks come from behind
Nick Watson has six goals in a preliminary final!
He took a contested mark on the second grab and drilled a set shot from right on the 50m arc.
The crowd gets even louder as the wizard puts the Hawks in front at the MCG as Harris Andrews drops the ball in the goal square and Watson kicks his sixth.
Jack Gunston also scores his fifth goal of the night in a preliminary final from the same spot as Watson’s fifth goal.
Here comes the Hawks!
It was tit-for-tat at the MCG for a while but hawthorn is finding their way.
Mabior Chol kicks from the 50m arc and Jack Gunston kicks his fourth goal of the night and Hawthorn is now only 15 points down.
Nick Watson misses an unbelievable opportunity but it feels like the Hawks has found a narrow margin to maybe win this.
The crowd at the MCG is 98,000 strong.
Swapping goals here for Brisbane and Hawthorn
It looked like Brisbane was closing the curtain here at the MCG after Logan Morris kicked a goal early in the fourth quarter but Dylan Moore drills one home on the run.
The Hawks are not quite done yet - they still have 16 minutes to go.
And that’s three quarters done
And Brisbane has changed the game.
They now lead by 20 at the MCG, the Lions kicking seven goals to one in that term.
There’s one quarter left to go of this preliminary final but the momentum well and truly fell away for the Hawks.

What a quarter from the reigning champs. They’re breaking Hawthorn now.
Lohmann kicks another one. He has three for the term. They suddenly lead by 20.
Hipwood has three and the Lions’ lead extends
Eric Hipwood all alone at the top of the goal square and Conor McKenna finds him for a goal!
Brisbane has now kicked five of the last six goals and lead by two kicks now.
Are they about to break away from the Hawks?
Watson has Brisbane shaken
Nick Watson wins a free kick inside 50 after being held at a stoppage before the ball was even thrown in. You don’t see that often.
His shot for goal misses narrowly. Would have been his fifth. The Lions have no answer for him.
But Hawthorn needs other options inside 50 from here to win it.
Brisbane takes the lead!
And just like that, Brisbane is in front! Kai Lohmann snaps one through.
They’ve kicked three goals in a row and suddenly Hawthorn is on the back foot.
Lions fire back instantly
Brisbane won’t lie down here. Eric Hipwood took a big marked and kicked a goal and now Hugh McCluggage converts from a free kick as Oscar Allen comes from the ground with the blood rule.
Hawthorn leads 76-72. Nervy times at the ’G.
