Classy Daicos move moments after crowning Brownlow victory
Nick Daicos has dedicated his first signature as a Brownlow Medallist to an eight-year-old boy with cancer named Logan.
In a touching moment during his acceptance speech, Daicos signed a copy of the Herald Sun from Monday morning suggesting it was "inevitable" he would win the award and dedicated the valuable piece of memorabilia to Logan.

The pair have built a special bond this year, with the Collingwood champion opening up about how it evolved.
“I’ve got a youngster, Logan, he’s staying awake at the moment. He’s got cancer. I worked closely with him this year and I think that just shows the platform we can have and impacting people like that, and we send videos back and forth throughout the week,” Daicos said on stage.
"We're only able to do that and put a smile on his face because we're playing footy and have the platform. At the same time, he's taught me more than I've taught him too."
Daicos won his maiden Brownlow Medal, wrapping the honour up by round 21.
The Collingwood star was 10 votes ahead of Marcus Bontempelli on 41 when he could not be caught before finishing on 47 which is the record for most votes in a season.
Patrick Cripps previously held the record when he tallied 45 in 2024.
Daicos has been the favourite for the Brownlow three years in a row and proved third time is a charm.
“I’ve learned not to trust the betting markets,” Daicos laughed on stage.
“It’s a massive award, I’m so privileged to be up here. I can’t believe I’m a Brownlow Medallist.”
He finished runner-up in 2024 and 2025. He arguably would have won in 2023 if not for a late-season injury.
The medal winner conceded he’s “bloody envious” of the Fremantle and Brisbane players ahead of their grand final.
“I’ve been part of a successful team. It’s something I’ve got to grow with others and take younger boys with me and get better together,” he said.
Daicos is building an incredible resume at just 23, adding the Brownlow Medal to four All-Australian blazers, two AFLPA MVP awards, two AFLCA Player of the Year awards, a best and fairest (he’ll win his second shortly) and the 2023 premiership cup.
