Kane Cornes declares Dan Houston bump on Izak Rankine is a 'shocking look for the game'

Kane Cornes has declared Port Adelaide defender Dan Houston's dangerous bump on Adelaide's Izak Rankine is a "shocking look for the game" after the Power's 22-point win in The Showdown on Saturday night.
During the third quarter, the ball landed in Rankine's hands as he attempted to dispose of it.
However, Houston attacked and elected to bump Rankine, flooring him and leaving him unconscious on the Adelaide Oval turf.

Rankine was stretchered off the ground in grim scenes, with Houston now almost certainly landing himself a date with the AFL tribunal on Tuesday night.
Houston's shoulder did not make direct contact with Rankine's head, instead his chest, but the force of the bump knocked him out once he hit the turf.

Now, Cornes has weighed in on the high bump, declaring Houston could miss out on the Power's finals run.
"It's a shocking look for the game," Cornes said on Nine's Sunday Footy Show.
"I expect it to be at least four weeks, minimum."
It could very well spell the end of Houston's time in the teal, black and white, as trade rumours continue to swirl around a move back home to Victoria for the defender.

"It may be the last game that Dan Houston plays for Port Adelaide," Cornes said.
If Port Adelaide does win their qualifying final, they'll only play two more matches if they reach the grand final, meaning a mega ban for Houston.
Cornes also suggested the Houston bump could be another case for the league to introduce the send-off rule - like the NRL.
"I think there's an argument for send-off rules in types of incidents like that because Adelaide, at a critical stage, lose their best player, Port get to keep theirs on," he said.
The Power will face Fremantle in WA before the finals.
