Collingwood star Jordan De Goey heads overseas to receive specific injury treatment

In a bid to stay injury-free in 2025, Collingwood midfielder Jordan De Goey has flown overseas to undergo specific treatment.

The 2023 premiership player has headed over to Doha to undertake a 10-day groin and abdomen conditioning program, according to The Age.

It comes after a restricted 2024 campaign, which saw De Goey play in just 13 of a possible 23 matches.

The 28-year-old will spend time at the Aspetar clinic to undertake a specifically designed program to counter his injuries and strengthen weakened areas of his body.

De Goey will work closely with the clinic's strength and conditions experts.

He's travelled overseas with the club's head of conditioning Jarrod Wade.

"Jordan, together with the club, made the decision to spend 10 days in his off-season with high-performance professionals in Doha, completing a training program aimed at improving the groin and abdominal issues he experienced during the 2024 season," Wade told The Age.

"Jordan is committed to getting his body right, working alongside world-leading professionals to ensure he is best prepared for the upcoming pre-season and the 2025 campaign."

Geelong premiership great Cameron Mooney lauded the move by the Pies.

"Does Collingwood push for a premiership if Jordan De Goey isn't fully fit? I don't think they do. So this is a great move," Mooney told SEN on Friday.

"Do whatever you need to do to get Jordan De Goey as fit as you can if you're Collingwood."

The clinic is the same that Richmond's Josh Gibcus and Hawthorn's Changkouth Jiath visited last year.
