'Excited to be back': Premiership winner John Worsfold returns to West Coast Eagles in new role
John Worsfold will return to West Coast next season as the club's head of football.
The premiership-winning coach and captain left the Eagles more than a decade ago, spending time at Essendon before moving into the corporate world.
But in a huge boost for the franchise, Worsfold is back on deck heading into season 2025 and will oversee coaching structure and development, performance and culture.

"We are excited to see John rejoin the club in a role which we believe will be significant across our football programs," chief executive Don Pyke said.

"His coaching and football experience will provide vital assistance, leadership and support for our AFL, AFLW and WAFL teams.
"We have a fresh and exciting group of leaders within our football programs and the opportunity to add someone with John's experience is significant as we move towards future success."
Worsfold played 209 first grade games for the club during his career, captaining the Eagles to flag victories in 1992 and 1994.
As a coach, Worsfold spent 281 games in charge at West Coast and led them to a premiership victory over the Sydney Swans back in 2006.

"I am excited to be back at the West Coast Eagles as the club strives to progress into the next era of on-field success across all competitions," he said.
"I have been fortunate to learn a lot in my time and role at Emeco group that has added to my AFL leadership experience. It will be an exciting period to work with some outstanding leaders across all competitions."
West Coast finished in 16th spot on the table this season in another disappointing year.
