'Extremely unfortunate': Fremantle rookie Odin Jones sidelined for 2025 after 'freak accident'

Fremantle rookie Odin Jones will play no part in the Dockers' 2025 campaign, after being placed on the club's long-term injury list as he recovers from spinal surgery.
Jones will be sidelined for all of next season after he suffered a "freak" fall at a friend's house last month which saw him fracture a vertebrae in his spine.
After being rushed into spinal surgery, the 19-year-old spent several weeks in hospital recovering.

At the time of the incident, Fremantle's executive general manager of football Joe Brierty described the situation as a "freak accident".
In a club statement released on Friday, Brierty gave an update on Jones' recovery.
"This is an extremely unfortunate outcome for Odin," he said of his addition to the long-term injury list.
"He's a popular member of our playing group, and we will continue to support him in his recovery every step of the way.
Odin is yet to play a senior game after he was selected with pick No.5 in last year's rookie draft.
This year, he kicked 11 goals in his 11 games across Peel Thunder's league and reserves sides in the West Australian Football League.

Post-season, the youngster signed a one-year contract extension to keep him on Fremantle's rookie list until the end of the 2025 season.
Odin missed the under-18 championships before being drafted because of a knee injury.
The Dockers have invited South Australian pair Isaiah Dudley and Baynen Lowe to pre-season training from Monday with a list spot now on the line.
