Adelaide Crows believe they can draw strength from their resounding victory over the West Coast Eagles as they aim for the top eight - and a shot at the AFL finals.

Key forward Darcy Fogarty said confidence was high off the back of the team's performance yesterday.

"We emphasised that we wanted to keep the pedal down and play consistent footy for the whole four quarters, which we did really well," Fogarty told 9News.

Fogarty scored two goals and had 20 disposals in the win over West Coast.

"The last month, I've been a lot more confident compared to the first month when things weren't going my way," he said.

The team had a brief scare when Fogarty injured his knee, but he reassured fans it was "fine today".

"I sort of landed on my knee a bit funny and jammed it up, but settled down pretty quickly."

With Izak Rankine on the sidelines, Josh Rachele seized the opportunity of more midfield time, but he may face some good-natured ribbing from teammates after Harley Reid's brutal fend-off.

"There might be one or two [jokes]," said assistant coach Scott Burns.

"When you've got a player like that, whether it's Dusty [Martin] or Reid, that are so good with the 'don't argues,' you sort of want to set yourself to hold those tackles when you get the opportunity," Burns said.

Burns said the Hawks were"shifting the ball well" and playing "aggressively" this season.

"Certainly the way they're using the ball, they make it hard for teams to defend," he said.
