Bombers bounce back from embarrassing saga to appoint new CEO
Essendon has finally appointed a new chief executive officer, two months after the club's previous one quit after less than 24 hours in the job.
The Bombers were embarrassed at the start of October when they announced Andrew Thorburn as the new boss, only for him to quit in disgrace the following day.
Media reports following his appointment revealed Thorburn was the chairman of a church which denounces homosexuality and likened abortion to the operation of concentration camps.

In a surprise twist a month later, reports emerged Thorburn is considering suing Essendon for wrongful termination, despite the club saying it was his decision to quit.

The Bombers, though, seem to have moved on from that saga and on Thursday announced Craig Vozzo as the new CEO.
Vozzo has been working at West Coast, first joining the Eagles in a list management role before transitioning into the executive side of the business.
He was being groomed to replace Trevor Nisbett as West Coast CEO but the Bombers have pounced to secure his services.
Xavier Campbell left Essendon's CEO chair at the end of the AFL season.
"Craig is a terrific person who understands what's required to build a strong and successful football club,'' club president David Barham said.
"His experience in delivering football results and driving a high-performance environment was a key factor in his appointment as our next CEO.
"He is a well-rounded individual with diverse experience and background. He has strong personal values and a track record in leading and developing people to achieve strategic goals."
