Jake Lever collapses in scary incident at Demons' first pre-season training session
Melbourne's return to pre-season training has ended abruptly for premiership star Jake Lever, who fainted on the track.
Lever collapsed on the far side of the ground at Casey, after a gruelling running drill.
The 25-year-old was immediately attended to by club medical staff, who huddled around him for about 20 minutes. Both coach Simon Goodwin and head of football Alan Richardson also showed concern for the defender's wellbeing.

Lever was responsive as medical staff asked him questions and after a while was able to get to his feet and leave the track unassisted.
Melbourne officials have said that Lever is fine, now resting at home.
A club spokesman said he just went a bit too hard, too early.
Today's session marked the official return to training for the Demons.
Melbourne's full list took part in the demanding running session under new high-performance chief Selwyn Griffith.
With warm conditions in Melbourne, several players were seen falling to their haunches afterwards.
The Demons recently celebrated their premiership victory with fans, putting on a replay of the 2021 grand final at the MCG yesterday, with the event attended by the likes of legendary former Demons coach Neil Daniher.
