Dogs worried about Freo, not AFL finals

Western Bulldogs defender Shane Biggs says nobody at the AFL club is looking any further ahead than Sunday's clash with Fremantle in Perth.

The Bulldogs can finish as high as fourth or low as seventh on the ladder, depending on how results go in the final round of the season.

Biggs suggested the club's focus was on building form ahead of finals, not sweating on every result this weekend and what September holds.

"We're building up, trying to get a bit of momentum leading up to finals," Biggs said.

"There's a fair bit to play out before finals start but we're definitely going to be part of it, we know that.

"There's a lot of movement on the ladder that can happen before then.

"But we've just got to win this week in Perth and keep that momentum going through finals."

The Bulldogs will fly out on Friday, travelling west with high hopes of ruining Matthew Pavlich's farwell.

Pavlich, considered the Dockers' greatest player, will sign off after playing his 353rd game - the record number for an AFL player not based in Melbourne.

"We'll get a couple of days in Perth. A change of scenery will be good and then we'll get into it (planning for finals)," Biggs said.

Biggs was part of the Bulldogs side that played in a thrilling elimination final against Adelaide in 2015.

The 25-year-old was upbeat there would be fewer nerves for some of the young Dogs this time around.

"It's probably good that we got a taste of it last year. It's not that new, the boys have been through it," he said.

"It's really exciting but we've got to narrow our focus and worry about Fremantle."
