Collingwood's Adam Treloar has experienced a setback in his first day back at training since the AFL suspended the competition due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The injury is not serious, but the Magpies confirmed the midfielder had "calf tightness" and was forced to leave the field.

Treloar underwent scans which resulted in a minor strain.

A club statement read: "Collingwood midfielder, Adam Treloar, will make a staged return to full training as a result of experiencing calf tightness at training on Monday.

"Treloar will ease his way back into the full program after leaving the track during the first session of the club's return to training at the Holden Centre."

Collingwood footy boss Geoff Walsh confirmed the news and said Treloar's workload will be cut back over the next few weeks.

"Adam was feeling tight and came from the track as a precaution. A scan has confirmed a minor strain that will see Adam's training loads wound back for a week or two," Walsh said.

In earlier news, Port Adelaide's Robbie Gray succumbed to broken toe after dropping a weight on his foot.

Power CEO Keith Thomas confirmed the news but remains confident Gray will be available for selection come round two.

"Robbie dropped a weight on his toe," Thomas told SEN SA Breakfast.

"We think it's broken but he'll be fine for Round 2. He'll be back today running on the anti-gravity machine."
