Collingwood star Dane Swan mistaken for wanted bikie

Collingwood champion Dane Swan's heavily tattoed body has prompted a case of mistaken identity involving Adelaide police.

Swan, who starred in the Magpies' narrow loss to Port Adelaide last night, confirmed after the match that he was pulled over police in their hunt for a wanted bikie.He said he was being driven through the city of churches by close friend and former Sydney defender Gerrard Bennett."I was going to a mate's joint to watch the (State of) Origin. We did (get pulled over)," he said on Channel 7."I thought, gee, is this a set up? I thought I was getting stitched (up) for half a second, by The Footy Show or something. I didn't know what was going on."Then (the police) tapped on the window and said 'get out', pretty bluntly to me. I haven't been in Adelaide for a while, I thought maybe I'd done something when I last came here and I haven't remembered."

Swan said it didn't take long for the officers to realise they had the wrong person, but admitted the ink that stretches across his entire body was always going to land him in trouble.

"I know, absolutely. I’ll keep my arms down (in the car) after that," he said.Swan amassed 33 touches against Power in what was another agonising loss for Collingwood.

Port triumphed 9.12 (66) to 9.9 (63) at a rain-soaked Adelaide Oval, with the loss coming with additional cost for the visitors.

The Magpies are set to lose Taylor Adams to suspension after the midfielder dropped a knee into Port's Justin Westhoff.

In an unsavoury third-term incident, Adams had Westhoff pinned beneath him as the pair wrestled and the Collingwood onballer lowered his right knee into the side of the Power player's head.
