Chris Yarran's time at Richmond
CHRIS YARRAN'S TROUBLED TRANSITION TO TIGERLAND
* October, 2015 - After protracted negotiations, Carlton agrees to send Yarran to Richmond in exchange for pick 19 (which became No.23 after academy selections). Yarran, 25, played 119 games for the Blues after he was selected sixth overall at the 2008 draft.
* February, 2016 - Yarran struggles to regain peak fitness after arriving at Punt Road out of condition, his cause not helped by calf injuries that restrict his participation in pre-season training.
"We're very excited about what he's going to bring but it's not going to be in the short term. We probably look forward to him in the second third of the year." - coach Damien Hardwick.
* March, 2016 - Yarran undergoes foot surgery that is expected to sideline him for six weeks.
"To be frank, the best thing that happened to him is this foot operation. (The foot injury) hasn't allowed him to train at anywhere near AFL levels which has reflected his performance over the last year-and-a-half at Carlton." - Damien Hardwick.
* May, 2016 - Yarran is granted leave to return to Perth to deal with family issues.
* May 26, 2016 - Richmond announce Yarran has taken an indefinite leave of absence to seek treatment for an unspecified mental illness.
"Chris' health and wellbeing are of the utmost importance to us and there's no timeframe on his return at this stage. From our point of view, he's a great young fella and we wish him the best." - Damien Hardwick.
