Geelong Cats star Tim Kelly has shot down reports claiming he has requested a trade to the West Coast Eagles.

The Hearld Sun reported Kelly was set to once again request a trade back to his home state of Western Australia on Tuesday.

It was rumoured he was set to reject a specially-tailored multi-year contract from the Cats in favour of a lucrative long-term deal dangled by West Coast in an attempt to lure him, but the 25-year-old has since shot down those claims.

"Nah it's false, mate," Kelly said when asked by Nine's Ayrton Woolley about the reports.

"I'm not too sure where that's all come from but I can confirm to you right now no decision has been made on my future.

"Once the season is done I'll sit down with my partner and my manager and we'll go from there."

Asked on whether the rumours proved a distraction so close to finals football, Kelly replied: "Not really, It is what it is.

"My main focus is playing this week so all this other stuff is not really important for me right now."

Kelly, whose trade request at the end of last season was denied by Geelong, is among the favourites for this year's Brownlow Medal following a stellar campaign that saw him earn All Australian honours.
