AFL Trade Period day four wrap

A far quieter day than what we're used to today: 

• Port will get Freo's pick 6 and will net Fremantle either 10 or 11 as well as a pick in the 20s.

• The Hawks place Ryan Burton on the table in offer for Port star Chad Wingard. 

• AFL introduce a new set of rules for 2019.

How will this play out?

Not a lot of trade chatter today, but that doesn't mean that there's no AFL news. There has been a bevy of rule changes that will impact the game in the 2019 AFL season:

Meanwhile, Brisbane coach Chris Fagan has spoken on SEN Afternoons saying he is "puzzled" by the reports of Beams seeking an exit.

Damian Barrett on NAB AFL Trade Radio reiterating that Beams is definitely seeking a return home.

"I fully expect this one to go down to 8.29pm on deadline day."

Okay so now that this has been confirmed, lets have a look at what it means for each team involved:

Port Adelaide

The Power now hold the 6th and 10th picks of the draft. There's a chance that they could potentially net pick 7 from the Bulldogs for Chad Wingard if that goes through. 

You have to think that the Power could pair up 6 and 7 to move up in the draft to potentially grab South Australian gun Jack Lukosius, potentially in a swap with the Suns who have pick 2 and 3.

Fremantle

The implications for the Dockers are more in their assets to trade for players. 

They now hold pick 11, 23 and 30 in the first two rounds of the draft. 

If they are to receive Brisbane's pick 5 for wantaway midfielder Lachie Neale, that could pave the way to deal 5 and 11 for Demons star Jesse Hogan, while 23 or 30 will be likely sent to GWS in exchange for big man Rory Lobb.
