AFL player in social media porn sting

A young AFL player has become the latest sportsman to fall victim to social media after images he sent found their way to a US porn site.

The player, who has not been named, sent images of himself believing the recipient was a woman.  Reports say that recipient was in fact a man, who forwarded the explicit images to an X-rated site in the United States.

The player's club told the Herald Sun he had received counselling and the club had dealt with the issue several weeks ago when they became aware of the images.

“We will take no further action against him as we consider it a private matter. We are, however, seeking legal advice as it is a criminal offence to maliciously distribute intimate images without consent,” the club said.
