Fremantle’s AFL season has been hit with a body blow after superstar midfielder Nat Fyfe hobbled off the field with a hamstring strain.

Fyfe’s injury occurred midway through the second quarter of the Dockers' clash with the Brisbane Lions as he bent down to collect a loose ball, before pulling the hamstring in his right leg.

The 26-year-old superstar who last year made a long-term commitment to the club that drafted him 20th overall in the 2009 National AFL Draft was enjoying another dominant performance prior to his injury.

Fyfe has been rejuvenated in season 2018 following an injury-filled 2016 where he played just five games due to a broken leg.

This year, the 2015 Brownlow Medallist has been back to his best, 30.5 disposals per game in 12 outings for the Dockers.

The veteran on-baller’s injury was the second big blow for the Dockers who lost Aaron Sandilands to a calf injury just minutes before the first bounce against the Lions.

The severity of Fyfe’s hamstring strain is yet to be determined, but he is likely to be in doubt for the Dockers’ upcoming games against Melbourne, Port Adelaide and Essendon.
