Before you buy, you need to know the rules of the airlines you are planning to travel with. As of 2026, a wave of airlines, including Qantas, Virgin Australia, Emirates, and countries including Japan, have banned the use of power banks during flights.
While you can still carry them in your hand luggage, some airlines may prohibit you from charging your phone or using the bank while flying in the air.
Some airlines are limiting passengers to up to two portable chargers, with a limit on the total charge power, too. While other airlines do not permit power banks in check-in luggage.
