We accidentally stumbled on the journal of the future

Despite its futuristic elements, the Smart Writing Set looks like the 'next big thing' because it also retains the classic look and feel of the Moleskine brand. The soft-covered notebook looks no different to its original beloved design.

It also has so many cool features, like the ability to edit your notes or email your notebook page instantly.

Why is this revolutionary?

So many seem to carry on about the 'lost art' of handwriting these days, and I do agree there's a nostalgic feeling around handwriting. Even though most of us type on digital devices for work, many still like to write notes in a notebook or a physical planner as they go about the workday.

However, there are so many more scenarios where handwriting is beneficial.

A 2024 Norwegian study found that writing by hand can be more advantageous when it comes to memory formation and encoding new information. But given we're always on devices, the ability to have your hand-written notes with you is a game-changer.

We're also not ready to give up on the art of handwriting, with products like the Amazon Kindle offering their Scribe version, which allows you to write notes and annotate books in their digital margins.
