Every parent needs this $20 gadget I swear by when my daughter is sick

There's nothing worse than a sick, snotty, congested baby.

The concept sounds absolutely disgusting. It's a little tube that sticks in their nose and using the mouthpiece at the other end you suck to help release snot out of their nose to help them breathe. 

My husband was absolutely horrified by the idea. Well, until he understood that there's no way the snot gets to your mouth – it's made with two different pieces and filters are involved too. 

The relief that came with clearing her nose was almost instant and it made a huge difference to her feeding – because she could actually breathe through her nose again – and her overall mood. 

Recently it's been getting a proper workout as she battles what feels like weekly viruses from daycare combined with being too young to understand how to blow her nose.

I know a lot of people might not be sold on the manual nasal aspirators because of the ick factor, but the beauty of it being manual is I never have to worry about batteries going flat or it needing a charge. 

I throw it into a pouch with our medicine every time we go away – along with spare filters because you will go through them – and it's been one of the best things to have on hand.
