As someone who loves the look of a plush hotel bed but hates the weight of a super heavy quilt, I often used to think that I just had to compromise because I couldn't have plush without the weight... but boy was I wrong.

It had been years since I'd gotten a new quilt, so it's safe to say my understanding of the market was, well, outdated.

But to my surprise, there has been some incredible innovation in this space, and the humble quilt is not what it once was.

Clippable innovation

What makes this range so innovative is that each quilt features a simple clip system that allows you to add or remove layers depending on your temperature and weight preferences.

This quilt was designed to solve two of the most common sleep pain points: couples who sleep at different temperatures, and sleepers who run hot/cold throughout the year, and there are a range of combinations you can unlock.

Finding the perfect fit

Finding the perfect fit for you is easy because there is a handy online quiz that does the work for you. In seconds, it will reveal your dream combination.

For me, I need my quilt to work year-round, so the results suggested the Ultimate Dream Medium Weight Quilt as my base, as this weight was the perfect all-season quilt. For those days during winter when it is particularly cold, it recommended the Deluxe Dream Polyfibre Half Quilt to help insulate without adding a huge amount of additional weight.

My partner and I have a relatively similar sleep temperature, so we also love the idea of rotating the quilt and having the additional half piece down by our feet, as that is where I find myself getting the coldest at night.

Streamlined colour-coding

The range is also super simple to navigate, with a streamlined colour-coding system that spans across the quilts and pillows range, so you can browse fibres and compare different options with ease, choosing from materials like feather and down, cotton, wool and recycled polyfibre.

The verdict

I can safely say that the difference I felt on that first night sleeping with this quilt was unmatched, and every other day since, this perfectly plush quilt gives the same look and feel as a hotel bed, except you're tucked in from the comfort of your own home.

The additional piece was great at keeping our feet toasty and warm, and even though it was heavier, we didn't feel suffocated or overheated, which I often find when using a quilt that is just too bulky for my sleep preferences.

It is also amazing to know we have the freedom and flexibility to mix and match all year round without having to buy an entirely new quilt each season.
