It's no secret that the key to a good night's sleep lies in the temperature of your room, and of course, your bed. Experts say that the optimal room temperature for sleep sits somewhere between 15 and 19 degrees, so when it comes to the cooler months, it's important you have a quilt that keeps you cosy, without overheating.
But as expected, everyone's ideal quilt looks a little different, and when it comes to juggling preferences between you and your partner, it can get a little complicated.
It's the age-old bedroom debate of too hot vs too cold, which is one that I know all too well, so when I discovered the Hilton Couples Dual Zone Cotton Wool Quilt from Pillow Talk that was designed to put an end to this issue once and for all, I immediately knew I had to put it to the test.
The way it works is by combining two different quilt weights, one side made with 400gsm wool fill, and the other side 280gsm cotton fill, with both wrapped up in the same cotton cover.

Upon opening the quilt, it looked and felt just like any other; however, once I began to inspect it more closely, I started noticing all the little differences between each side.
Firstly, the warm side does look a fair bit more plush inside my quilt cover than the cool side, but once I placed all my cushions on top, this was barely noticeable.
The two sides have different stitching patterns, with the warm side utilising a large square pattern, and the cool side using a much smaller square. The two sides are separated by a thin piece that runs directly down the centre, which also helps to blend out the contrast in thickness.
Each side is clearly labelled and sewn with a unique stitch to differentiate. 9Product Reviews
Now, the question you're all dying to know...
Does it actually work?
I am pleased to report that it absolutely does. I have spent almost two weeks rotating from side to side in my bed to see if I could notice a difference in the temperature, and I definitely do.
I run really hot, so the nights spent sleeping on the warmer side definitely had me feeling toasty, often waking up a few times throughout the night to get comfortable again, while the cooler side had me feeling completely content, sleeping through the night without a problem.
To really make sure it wasn't just in my head, I then had my partner do the same thing, rotating between the sides to feel the difference, and he noticed it too, feeling particularly warm on the nights spent sleeping on the extra plush side.
If you're looking for a one-and-done solution to the sleep temp debate, then the Hilton Couples Dual Zone Cotton Wool Quilt is here to save the day and your relationship. Don't believe me? Then you'll have to just Hilton Couples Dual Zone Cotton Wool Quilt!
