Why this new Bissell stick vacuum deserves a place in every pet-friendly home
Updated
As an animal lover, having my furry friends around the house at all times is a non-negotiable, but unfortunately, with this comes a lot of mess.
Whether it be loose fur, spilt kibble, or toys sprawled all over, keeping a tidy space is a big job, and one that requires some heavy-duty tools.

If you're sitting there wondering how this might be any different from every other stick vac on the market, you're not alone, which is why I decided to put it to the test.
Over the last few weeks, I have been trialling a unit, and here's why I think it deserves a place in every pet-loving household asap.

What sets it apart?
The biggest problem with pet-induced mess is that it's never surface-level... it always seems to be embedded in every surface they touch.
However, at the heart of this new launch from Bissell is the dual-brush technology. What this means is that it features two brushes that work together to loosen and lift all of that debris, while the other stays close to the floor, adjusting suction as needed based on the surface to capture anything that might have been missed by the first brush.
But this isn't just exclusively for floors. If, like mine, your pets seem to run the house and jump up onto couches or beds as they please, the furfinder upholstery tool is going to be your new best friend.
This is a smaller, more compact attachment that helps to remove up to 95 per cent of embedded pet hair, with a handy headlight that reveals debris that might not have been visible to the naked eye.

If you're allergy-prone, has also incorporated a HEPA-sealed allergen system into , which helps to capture up to 99.97 per cent of dust and pet dander from the air.
Another unique feature that I love about this stick vac is that it comes with two removable 25.2V lithium-ion batteries, which each offer up to 50 minutes of run-time, so you can rest assured knowing the charge won't run out on you mid-clean.
Included in the box is a handy battery dock that has space for both batteries, but only charges one battery at a time. This wouldn't really be an issue unless both batteries were out of charge at the same time, in which case you would have to wait for one to fully charge (up to three hours) before then letting the other complete its charging cycle.

Who is it good for?
While this is exceptionally good for those who have furry friends running around the house, it doesn't mean it isn't great for those without pets, too. The is perfect for households with little to no storage space, those who want a quick and easy cordless clean, or even people who need a lightweight and accessible tool that is easy to handle.

Final verdict
I love this vacuum. From the setup to everyday use, the entire process was super seamless and intuitive, which is what I need when it comes to new tech. I also love the blue colour, and find this to be so much more stylish (yes, vacuums can be stylish) than the typical black or grey we often see in home cleaning tools.
Whether you have pets or not, if you want the thorough clean of a traditional vacuum without the bulk, the Bissell PowerClean DualBrush 280W is the tool for you.
