How to shop denim under $50

Buying denim can be a costly exercise, especially if you're looking at big brand names.

However, all you need to know about 'good' denim is that the best pieces are composed of cotton. In this list, all the items are composed of more than 70 per cent cotton. The items with stretch have materials like polyester and elastane in them as well, but this doesn't mean they won't last.

According to the experts at Gap, the tip to keeping your denim looking great is handwashing it.

"Handwashing gives the best chance of retaining both the colour and the shape of your denim, prolonging the overall life of your garment. This is even more true of black denim".
