Tried and tested: The Rhode products worth trying (and the ones to skip)

It's official, Rhode by Hailey Bieber has entered the Australian beauty market, and the response has been incredible.

Having previously gone to great lengths to get my hands on iconic products like the Glazing Milk, Lip Case, Pocket Blush, and Lip Peptide Treatment, being able to shop these directly from the Rhode site is a game-changer.

Whether you've always wanted to try the brand or are just discovering it for the first time, I'm here to help you decide which products are worth the splurge. Because let's face it, in an age where beauty products are plentiful, no one wants to be spending their hard-earned cash on something that doesn't tick all the boxes.

Glazing Milk

$55 | Rhode

Arguably the brand's top-trending product, and the one I was most interested in trying, the Rhode Glazing Milk spoke a pretty big game.

Promising lightweight hydration, glowy skin, and a boosted skin barrier? I was intrigued.

After using up every last drop in my bottle, I am happy to report that it is, in fact, worth the hype. I would even go as far as to say that it transformed my skin and my skincare routine.

My skin was left with a subtle glow that perfectly peeked through my makeup, leaving me looking dewy, but not oily, all day long.

I also felt like my dry patches were less textured, thanks to the quick-absorbing formula that hydrated my skin at a deeper level.

I purchased the full-size bottle, and it lasted me well over six-months, so if you're looking to dip your toes in but aren't quite sure, I'd recommend purchasing the travel size to start.

Final verdict: My new favourite toner, I will absolutely be repurchasing.

Pocket Blush

$43 | Rhode

Having seen just about every beauty creator on social media raving on about the Pocket Blush, I just knew I had to get my hands on it.

With an extensive shade range – over 10 options – for my first intro to the product, I opted for the shade Freckle, which has a neutral peachy undertone.

Don't let the small size fool you, this blush is incredibly pigmented, and the formulation is oh so creamy.

Something I did notice was that when applying the product directly to my face (on top of my base), it did cause some of my foundation to rub off. However, when taking a brush directly to the blush or diffusing on the back of my hand, the colour pay-off was lovely, and my makeup stayed intact.

Final verdict: I love the shade range and formula, but won't be in a rush to purchase more.

Lip Case

$66 | Rhode

I was truly influenced by Hailey herself to buy this phone case, because look at how chic that mirror selfie is.

The case itself is a super soft silicone, which does keep my phone protected, but what you can't see in these mirror selfies is how chunky the bottom of the case is, adding an extra centimetre or two to your phone size.

With this case, you can unfortunately say goodbye to ever putting your phone in your pocket.

I will say, I eventually grew to love this feature, as it is very ergonomic to hold, but it was something that shocked me at first.

Since purchasing, I have upgraded my phone, so while I would purchase this again for my new phone, it definitely isn't sitting atop my wishlist.

Final verdict: I don't need this, but it looks great in photos.

Lip Peptide Treatment

$35 | Rhode

Naturally, if I purchased the Lip Case, I had to get a Lip Peptide Treatment to go with.

I really loved this formulation, and found it was the perfect wash of colour on my lips, while also still hydrating.

As a religious lip balm user, having this on my phone at all times was super convenient, as I found myself reaching for it periodically throughout the day.

Final verdict: I would definitely repurchase, as you can never have too many lip balms.

Having had such great success with the Glazing Milk, it only feels right that I purchase The Rhode Kit so I can put the other ceramide-rich products to the test.

Bonus points, they also come in this iconic cosmetic case, which I would proudly display on my bathroom countertop.

Glazing Mist

$52 | Rhode

I am a mist lover, and always find myself reaching throughout the day for top-ups.

The Glazing Mist boasts the same hydration-packed formula as the Glazing Milk, just in an easy-to-apply format.

I am picturing this to be my winter skin saviour this year, giving a nice boost of nourishment whenever I need it.
