These sneakers saved my feet when walking 204,678 steps in 8 days

I recently returned from an action-packed trip to Japan (no, I won’t stop talking about it!). It was so busy that in eight days we squeezed in a total of three cities, ten bowls of ramen, 600 “arigato gozaimasu!“, 204,678 steps, too many dollars spent (I don’t want to think about it), and one mental breakdown in Don Quijote – IYKYK.
Over the course of the eight days, I wore the New Balance 740s in the hope that my feet would remain comfortable and protected on our big days out. Nothing ruins a holiday more than blisters, sore arches, and generally losing the will to live.
In short, I loved them. If you’re in the market for some reliable – and very cool – new sneakers, I’ll tell you why these are such a fabulous option.

Why I love them:
Style: This longtime fan favourite returns from the archives, poised to inspire a whole new generation of devotees. The 740 combines familiar elements of 2000s dad-core with a modern, stylish twist. And sorry, but the pink! She’s perfect.
Comfort: Lightweight, with an open-knit mesh upper, and 'Abzorb' midsole that absorbs impact through a combination of cushioning and compression resistance, these shoes are seriously comfortable and kept my feet pain-free throughout the holiday.
Versatility: These can be paired with activewear for a casual walk, mom-jeans and cargo skirts for casual daytime wear, or you can dress them up with barrel jeans, or a maxi skirt. The options are pretty endless, IMO.
Breathability: There’s nothing worse than being on your feet all day and feeling them get hotter and stickier as time goes by. The 740s felt breathable on warmer, humid days, doing a fantastic job of keeping me cool.
Validation: But seriously, I've had so many compliments when wearing these.
