Experience

Jessi started with nine.com.au in January 2024 as an SEO specialist. Within her role, she works collaboratively with the nine.com.au journalists, senior editorial team and product team to provide day-to-day support. Jessi also regularly develops comprehensive SEO guides for major celebrity, style and lifestyle events to improve our search and discover traffic year-on-year. To determine our traffic growth, she analyses SEO data and performance metrics to provide key takeaways and actionable insights. She has also pulled together reports and strategies to improve our site's E-E-A-T signals and social SEO.

Career highlights for Jessi include writing travel review content for her first Business Class flight from Melbourne to Honolulu and publishing her personalised guides to Hawaii's O'ahu and Shoalhaven, NSW.

Jessi leverages almost a decade of diverse work experience across SEO, digital marketing, financial administration and client operations. She started as a Trainee Accountant and Receptionist at Accounting Firms on the Sunshine Coast before transitioning to the exciting world of marketing. At one of the Sunshine Coast’s largest digital marketing agencies, Jessi began her marketing career as an assistant marketing manager with a focus on social media and email marketing, before shifting to brand manager and later, advertising manager. It was Jessi’s experience in optimising Google and Meta Advertising accounts that sparked her interest in keyword research, leading to her Search Engine Optimisation role at Nine. 

Education

Jessi completed a Bachelor of Business with a Marketing Major at the University of the Sunshine Coast in June 2023 before starting her career in SEO at nine.com.au. Along with her Marketing Major, she additionally studied Communications, Branding, and Accounting courses. 

Awards and Recognition

Jessi was named as one of the International News Media Association (INMA) 30 global rising stars under 30. She was commended for her data-driven execution of high-impact SEO strategies and for delivering measurable audience growth during high-competition global events.
