Perth Hills residents unite against development plans
On the eve of both a state and federal election, a community group fighting against urban development in the Perth Hills has united political parties in a rare display of solidarity.

Holly Edwards-Smith is a Reporter for 9News Perth.
Holly graduated from Edith Cowan University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Media and Communication and a Graduate Diploma in Broadcasting.
After receiving an internship at the end of her studies, Holly moved to Sydney to work at the ABC before returning to WA and working in radio news in Bunbury.
In 2022, Holly began work as a Video Journalist in Perth before moving to Melbourne for two years.
In that time across several states, she covered border restrictions, COVID lockdowns, state and federal elections, natural disasters and various sporting events.
After a 6-month break to travel, Holly returned to Perth and began work with 9News Perth and 6PR in December 2024.
She will be regularly appearing on the Today Show, 9News Late and 6PR.
