'Proud of where you are': Zoe Marshall's poignant post as she reflects on the 'tricky' years as she turns 40
Zoe Marshall is about to start a new chapter in her life, and reflecting on the last decade.
The 9Honey Parenting columnist is celebrating her 40th birthday and ahead of the milestone looked back at the 'tricky' years of her 30s in a poignant post on Instagram.
"Last night of my 30s … 30s were tricky at times," she wrote alongside a snap of herself tucked up in bed.

"Still figuring out who you are and what you want? Growing out of friendships, learning boundaries," the post continued.
"Parenthood takes your breath away, deep love and loss of self.
"Re-living mistakes til you get the wisdom. Figuring out it's not as hard as you make it. Learning to trust yourself.
"Taking more risks as they aren't as scary. Feeling more beautiful because time is fleeting.
"Arriving at surrender. Proud of where you are," the post concluded.

The mum-of-two has been making changes throughout her life as this big birthday loomed and she kicked off 2024 in a very different way.
In a column for 9Honey Parenting she opened up about the 'experiment' that had already transformed her year.
Instead of loading up January with goals, plans and to-do lists, Zoe opted for slowing down with no agenda and no plans.
"I think a lot of this is coming from health scares last year, and being completely unwell for three months," she wrote.
"I'm just not willing to put myself at the bottom of the barrel anymore – and I know it's a very common thing for mothers, carers, women to do."

Zoe recently kicked off her 40th birthday celebrations and shared the occasion with her daughter Ever.
The mother-daughter duo enojyed a day with family and a stunning custom cake which featured little fondant figures of them both and plenty of love hearts.
Zoe and husband, former NRL star Benji Marshall, are parents to Ever and Fox, and she has spoken a lot about how she's raising her children.
