YouTuber reveals his partner died after contracting deadly infection from oysters

An American YouTuber has shared the devastating news his partner died after contracting a rare infection from oysters.

Billy LeBlanc, who goes by @justbillyleblanc on YouTube and Instagram, took to Instagram to reveal he and his partner Natalie Clark had contracted a virus called Vibrio Vulnificus after eating some raw oysters.

LeBlanc revealed that he "almost died" while Clark sadly passed away.

"Unfortunately Natalie didn't make it and she passed away," he wrote.

"I will always remember how we got lost everywhere together. I will always love her and miss her," he continued.

"Be safe and hold your loved ones tight you never know when it'll be the last time you see them."

Clark's passing has been understandably hard on LeBlanc and Clark's family.

LeBlanc's mother took to her Facebook account on July 7 to "thank everyone for all the prayers".

She shared that the "past two weeks [have] been a very hard time" before explaining the unfortunate events that had unfolded and revealing that LeBlanc himself "was very close to death [and] in ICU for 8 days".

"Please continue to pray for Natalie's son Julian for her family and for Billy, both for his health and his heart," she pleaded.

Vibrio Vulnificus is a rare but serious bacterial infection that can be contracted from eating "uncooked or undercooked shellfish," according to Cleveland Clinic. Symptoms include fever chills and blisters and can become "fatal in days if left untreated".

LeBlanc shared the news on his Instagram with a series of photos of himself and Clark holidaying together. The couple had been together for more than four years after LeBlanc introduced her as his girlfriend on his YouTube channel in 2020.

Clark also leaves behind her only son – 17-year-old Julian Clark – who is an aspiring actor.

LeBlanc was made famous as a part of the popular family YouTube channel Bratayley. The channel featured LeBlanc, his ex-wife Katie LeBlanc and his children Annie, Hayley and Caleb (who sadly passed away in 2015 at just 13 years old).

The family posted on their popular channel until the LeBlancs separated in 2019.

LeBlanc went on to create his own YouTube account on which he shared videos of his life with his children and later with Clark.
