Woman reveals the controversial 'marriage rules' she expects her husband to follow

A woman has revealed a list of controversial "marriage rules" she asks her husband to follow — and according to her, they've been happily married for 10 years.

Brittney Rogers, 31 and a mother of five posted the video which now has over 164,000 views.

Calling her video, "Things my husband and I do in our marriage that most people get mad about," the TikToker said the first "rule" they follow is to never go to a bar or club without each other.

The second rule was simple — "no pornography."

And the third was a little more tricky: "Keeping all finances separate and splitting all shared bills."

TikTokers drew issue with the last "rule" in particular, saying it made it too easy for partners to leave each other.

"I was with you until the splitting bills. If I can split bills with him I can go to the club by myself," one person commented.

"Don't you see your money as 'this is how much WE have', and 'this is how much WE owe in bills'?" another wrote.

In response, Brittney wrote: "Stats also say one of the biggest issues in marriages is money problems and this for us, solved that."

Others thought the splitting of finances was a great idea.

"I've never shared an account with a partner and I never will," wrote one person.

"We keep our finances separate as well. It makes things a lot easier," shared another.

In a "Part 2" video (watch above), Rogers revealed some further rules she asks her husband to follow.

Her first one was to "always let each other know where we are going", which for most would be a pretty understandable ask.

Put Rogers says she and her husband have added an extra dimension to this rule — live tracking.

According to Rogers the pair use the 'Life360' family tracking app to ensure they know where either person is at all times.

The next rule was also a bit of a blow — "no friends of the opposite sex", at least not if they're not friends with both husband and wife.

This rule left TikTokers quite ruffled.

"So any friendship with the opposite sex [formed] before you [met] has to end? LOL. Be more secure," one person wrote.

Others thought all of Rogers rules were just "common courtesy".

"This! It's all about respect, not control," one TikToker commented.

"This is called a healthy relationship, those of you getting defensive in the comments probably don't want your significant other going through your phone," another added.

In reference to Rogers entire video, one person criticised: "Trust issues? I give the marriage 18 months."

Quipping back, Rogers wrote: "Lol been 10 years. We rarely fight and trust isn't an issue because we both agree with them."
