Engagement announcement goes viral thanks to hilarious post

When it comes to a marriage proposal there are a lot of things that you, as the one dropping the knee want to get right.

But the person on the receiving end also wants it to go well. You want to say the right thing, have the perfect reaction and of course a manicure for that first Instagram shot showing off your new rock.

So, what happens if you’re due for a manicure and the magical moment happens?

Well it’s the situation that one Australian woman found herself in and with the help of her cousin they not only nailed the shot, but have gone viral in the process.

At first glance it looks like the perfect shot of the happy couple including an expertly placed hand showing off the ring.

But what the photo doesn’t show is the woman’s cousin hilariously positioned next to the couple with her arm in the air so she can hand model the ring.

The two images were uploaded to Twitter and the hilarious pictures have quickly gone viral.

“My cousin’s boyfriend proposed to her but she didn’t have her nails done lmao,” read the post.

The tweet has been liked over half a million times in under 24 hours.

Twitter users flooded the post with praise for their quick thinking, while others suggested they must have an extremely close bond to do something like this and be able to see the funnier side of it all.

Of course the post was also filled with women tagging their boyfriends and suggesting a 'hint' before they decide to propose, so they can have a manicure before the big moment and avoid a situation like this.
