'My husband wants me to stop sunbathing nude while his mum's around'

A woman has shared hilarious concerns that her mental health will "suffer" if she's not able to go nude around her home, claiming it's the only thing that helps her unwind.

The concerns have arisen now that the woman's "prudish" mother-in-law is coming to stay with her and her family. Her husband has requested she robe up, and start wearing more clothes while his mum's around.

In her post to Reddit, the woman says she's felt a bit ruffled by her husband's ask.

"My family has always been very comfortable with nudity, so I find it really irritating and completely unnecessary to be told to restrict some perfectly harmless things," she writes.

Some of the things this includes are: "swimming and hot-tubbing nude, topless sunbathing, having to wear a bra whenever guests are over."

The woman says she has "flat out refused" to comply with her husband's wishes, since his mother will be staying with them for an entire month.

"I told him I am not going to change things, especially when it's going to cut off a crucial way in which I relax and unwind," she writes, adding "I genuinely think my mental health and work will suffer if this avenue is cut off."

While the woman says she will of course be accommodating in all aspects, her nudity is something she won't compromise – a statement which has completely delighted readers.

"I would draw the line with the dressing up part or needing to wear a bra," reasoned one person. "It's not unreasonable to not want you to be naked."

They added: "If your mental health tanks because you're wearing a bikini instead of naked there are bigger issues here."

Another person shared a similar view: "I'm not comfortable with anyone's nudity except my husband's, and if that makes me prudish I'll own it – but seeing my grown child or their spouse naked on a regular basis isn't something I'd look forward to."
