Woman who dumped her fiancé criticised for not returning engagement ring

A woman has been criticised for not returning her engagement ring after dumping her fiancé.

Sharing her story on TikTok, @MollieKilkelly0 writes: "When something doesn't feel right, you swallow your pride and kick the guy to the curb.

"You take that rock he gave you with all those empty promises and buy yourself some rocks!'

In the video we see a photo of Mollie wearing the engagement ring before walking out of a jewellery store, showing the earrings she had made out of it. Adding the hashtags #brokenengagement #love #breakup.

Naturally, other TikTok users took to the comments to share their own stories of what happened to their engagement rings following their broken engagements.

"I had a ring like that but I ended up giving it back funny thing is he still has it," wrote one.

Another shared that she too had her engagement ring made into earrings following the end of her relationship.

"That's exactly what I did! And at shane & Co! yesss girl!"

"I would have done the same," commented another.

In reply to a follower who complimented her on the "beautiful ring", Mollie said, "Thank you! I loved it but the guy was a joke!"

But not everyone was convinced Mollie did the right thing.

"You dump and keep the ring? Classless," one commenter wrote, later explaining, "If he had dumped her, I would agree but trust me on this, she should've given the ring back."

To which Mollie explained: "He ghosted me but yeah I planned a wedding and didn't get any of my money back of course I kept the ring."

In support of her decision, others chimed, "Girl, you earned that ring. Glad you kept it."

"I mean he gave her the ring so it is hers," echoed another.
