Bride fumes after wedding guest brings uninvited 'plus one': 'They both looked like they were high'

Wedding receptions are largely a numbers game. Couples have to know exactly how many people are attending so they can budget accordingly and cater appropriately.

That leaves no room to deal with an uninvited wedding guest — in particular one that has been brought along by a friend who should have known better.

"This happened at my wedding in September," one wronged bride explains on Reddit's 'Wedding Shaming' thread.

"I invited a group of childhood friends to my wedding," she continues.

"Everyone RSVP'd except for one, let's call him Donny. I texted him to see if he got the invite and would come, and finally he responded yes."

She explains they had 115 people at their wedding in an outdoor venue.

"After the ceremony, first dance, and first few speeches, Donny walks in late with someone I don't recognise," she writes.

"He brought his girlfriend, whom I had never met, did not know was coming, and did not have a seat for. He pulled her up an extra chair at his table."

The bride explains two others had asked if they could bring a plus one and she had agreed, as long as they had been dating for "6+ months".

Donny, however, didn't even ask.

"Second, this woman was dressed so inappropriately for a wedding," the bride continues, describing her "lots of dark makeup" and "tiny and very revealing dress".

"They both looked like they were high," she continues.

"Their eyes were bloodshot and they didn't eat any of the food. The girlfriend was rude to my other guests. Every time I looked over in their direction, Donny was blowing a big vape cloud into the air."

Donny's rude behaviour continued during the speeches, according to the bride.

"Later I was told that, during my parents' speeches, he turned to another guest and said 'wow this is a white privilege party if I've ever seen one!'" she writes.

"Even later still, he got drunk and argued with my sister in law, calling her all kinds of awful names because she is vaccinated and I guess he is anti-vax?

"She is 10 years younger than him. Even when she tried to walk away, he kept shouting things at her."

The newlywed says after the reception, one of the guests described Donny and the girl "making out in a dark corner and touching each other inappropriately".

To add insult to injury, Donny's gift to the couple was a garden hose and a VHS tape of the original Batman: "We don't even have a TV in our house."

"I actually would have just had him and her removed from the wedding the minute they showed up," one Reddit follower writes. "Sorry they upset your sister what a d--khead he is."

Another comments: "What are you talking about, the garden hose was a great gift. You could have 'tested' it on him. 'Oh whoops, sorry, didn't think it would go that far.'"

Suffice to say, the bride won't be watching the original Batman movie any time soon either.
