An American TV reporter has received the shock of his life after spotting his mum driving past saying "hello" as he prepared to go on air.

Myles Harris was out on field to record a news segment for ABC affiliate WSYX when he received an unexpected drop in from his mother, according to the outlet.

Harris took to Instagram to share the hilarious video captured by cameraman DeAngelo Byrd, sharing the post with the caption, "Typical Sandi. Yes, typical Sandi…Thanks for @deangelodbyrd who kept rolling."

In the clip, Harris is seen looking onto the road during filming and spotting his mother in a car on the street. As she drives closer, Harris looks embarrassed (and shocked) and says to the camera, "That's my mom, hold on."

Within seconds Harris' mum, Sandi, appears onscreen in a black car and sweetly shouts out, "Hi baby!"

The reporter laughs and playfully responds to his mother, saying "I'm trying to work right now and you're over here calling my phone."

He indicates that he's in the middle of something and jokes, "This is DeAngelo, you can say hi. And don't be holding up traffic because you got cars behind you."

"Alright," Sandi replies as she blows her son a kiss and continues to drive on.

The adorable and equally as embarrassing clip has garnered plenty of internet attention racking up over 700,000 views and over 5,000 comments with users chiming in on the comical interaction.

One user joked, "My mom would absolutely do this."

Another remarked, "HILARIOUS. You gotta love Mommy."
