Georgie Gardner's sweet moment with Ben Fordham's son

The special bond between Georgie Gardner and Nine colleague Ben Fordham's son Freddy has been captured in a delightful video.

Freddy, 4, was accompanying his dad to the TV studio as he often does. 

The pair bumped into Gardner, 48, who had just wrapped up hosting The Today Show with Deb Knight.

Gardner took the opportunity to spend some time with Freddy, 4, who shared his latest joke.

Fordham tells 9Honey that he was working on Today when wife Jodie Speers fell pregnant, "So Georgie has known Freddy his whole life".

"She has a certain magic when it comes to kids," he said. "Although her jokes do need freshening up. Lucky Freddy comes to the rescue."

Fordham, 42, hosts Sydney Live on radio station 2GB each weekday afternoon, in addition to his duties at Nine.

Freddy can even sometimes be heard on the radio when he joins him there.

Fordham says his son has recently discovered the art of telling a joke, with his latest one involving squirrels. In fact, Fordham says Gardner taught Freddy his first joke.

"It was, 'What did the banana say to the doctor? I'm not peeling well.'"

Freddy is often joined by little sister Pearl, 2, during trips to the TV studio.

The devoted dad has been bringing his kids along since "day dot", the kids happily playing with staff while Fordham appears on TV.
