TIME Magazine's controversial Trump cover
While many are still talking about Donald Trump’s inauguration, and his subsequent initial days in office, has chosen to take another stance on the new presidency – by putting the women’s marches on its cover.
The cover is simply a “pussy hat”, which became a symbol of the march after millions of women wore them, alongside the headline “The resistance rises. How a march becomes a movement.”
The controversial cover is accompanied by an article about the marches, headlined “Perhaps the largest protest in U.S. history was brought to you by Trump.” The article looks at how the marches became a symbol for how millions around the the world are feeling.
"There is no precedent in U.S. history for the show of collective outrage that answered Trump’s Inauguration. But then, there is no precedent for Trump, either: impetuous, thin-skinned and, for his trouble, entering office facing a grassroots opposition that heated up faster than a cup of ramen," the article reads.
The cover has quickly become a sensation, with people taking to social media to talk about it:
The new issue of TIME is out in the US on February 6.
