Woman makes amazing discovery after realising the 'proper' use of an interior car handle

A driver who spent 33 years not realising the proper use of the interior car handle was shocked to discover a little-known secret.

TikTok user Jess, who works as a teacher in the US, was stunned to discover the truth about why every car has a little handle above the window.

Jess shared a video of a person pulling down the grab handle, before flipping a latch that transformed it into a hook to hang things like bags or jackets.

Gobsmacked, she ran down to her own car to see if the hack works in real life.

Sure enough, Jess pulled down the handle and found the little latch that turned it into a hanger.

"33 years wasted," Jess captioned her video, which has since amassed over one million views.

It seems most of her followers were similarly in the dark when it comes to their in-car features.

"What the heck!? 42 years of my existence," one woman wrote. "The things TikTok teaches me knows no bounds," another said.

"I didn't know you could do this. Genuinely curious though. What do you use this for? I feel like I'm missing something," another asked.

A few TikTok users claimed that not every car comes equipped with this nifty little hanger, but most modern vehicles do have it.

Some joked the 'real' use of the interior handle was for driving instructors or scared mums to grab onto.

"That's the 'Help me Jesus!' handle that was created for moms when their teens are learning to drive," one person quipped.
